We all have a passion.
Passions drive our every move.
Passions dictate what career we choose, the people we surround ourselves with, the spouses we settle down with, and our extracurricular activities.
A month or so ago I woke up and decided to move.
Meaning, I want to make a difference.
That is MY passion.
Because of this passion I choose nursing as a career, I consistently surround myself with people whom have the same devotion to life as I, and I'm always volunteering where I know I can make a difference in someone's life (no matter how small).
Growing up I've always had a passion for South Africa.
I can't explain it, so I will not even try.
My passion for making a difference and for South Africa seemingly hit my like a ton of rocks that morning I woke up a month or so ago.
I can make a difference where my knowledge is strong, health care.
In May of 2012 I will be venturing off to St. Lucia, South Africa.
I will be completing a 2 week medical mission in which I will educate the small community of St. Lucia on HIV/AIDS transmission and prevention.
I will also be spending a majority of my time in an orphanage for kids whose parents have tragically fallen to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
I will be improving living conditions, nutrition, farming, and school equipment so that the community in St. Lucia, South Africa can become self-sustaining.
Making a difference.
This is my passion.
I'm excited to explore it, devote myself to it, and emerge myself in it.
So join me as I explore my passion, hopefully while seeking your own.
Ask yourself:
If money were not an issue, what passion would you devote yourself to?
You will see on my home page a donate button.
The donations will go directly towards this wonderful cause.
Every penny counts.
I will also be doing some fun fundraising ideas which I will update you on my blog.
If you have any questions regarding my venture please e-mail me at MLindsey712@hotmail.com
